How Do You Fit Pointe Shoes correctly?

All brands make different shapes and styles of pointe shoes, which are designed for different people and different uses. This is often a source of confusion for first time buyers, so if you can get your dance teacher or an experienced dancer to accompany the installation with you. Installed in different stores may vary from medium to very exceptional, so it's a good idea to get a name of a good installer recommended by a trusted person.
While the person is your shoe should check all the following, you should know what to look and feel oneself. The installer can see how the shoe looks from the outside, but only you can hear what is happening inside.

If possible, ask your teacher to come with you next time you get the gears so you can check the adjustment. If you can not go, always check the fit of the shoe with them with them before sewing ribbons and broken shoe or dance in them. If you mess wear at home, not my be returned to the store, and may happen to be a very expensive exercise.

Each part of the tip of the shoe has a name. Try to learn the names of different parts of the shoe before going to the store for the first time. In this way, you know that the installer asks if he speaks: "It vamp too high?". There are many sites online that can help you.
Always try the shoes of a padding or "Ouch Pouches" who wear while dancing, and check the boot on each of the following locations.

A) access to the check box - The foot should fit perfectly in good standing with their fingers crushed in too (should be able to lie flat). There should be a swelling of the skin on the upper edge of the standard shoe. The top of the window should sit on the skin over the foot. You should be able to slide the tip of your fingers in his shoe on his toes, right. If the box is too round for a flat foot, there will be more space here. You can flatten out the window a bit ', but it will also change the width.

B) Take a look at the length of the wings. The wings should be near the big toe. If they are too short, the box will pull the big toe in a corner and can cause a bunion to form. If they are too long, it can be difficult to function properly through the middle point.
C) Check the position of the heel of the shoe. Heel satin like 7 / 8 of the way in which the heel. Too high and you can have problems with entering your attachment of the Achilles tendon. Too low and you'll be frustrated with the heel of the shoe jumped when you get up.
D) Look at the length of the vamp, the front of the shoe. If the vamp is too long will not be able to climb within a half-point efficiently. If it is too sort for long fingers, however, you will feel as if the fall from the front of the shoe.
E) when it bends in a position of second set, the foot is in its long and wider, it is important to check that there is enough space in the shoe to the foot during the dance. The toes should stay long in the shoe, and touching the tip of the shoe to the depth of your bent. If you have very short fingers, you may need to fit inside the box of shoes to get a nice line of shoes and a box of mounting adequate.
F) E 'important to examine the extent of the shoe in an upright position before placing a weight on it. Insert the tip of a shoe to the ground with the weight on the foot. Press gently to check the fit of the box. The foot should be supported in the box, and does not flow too much. Check the amount of satin heel. If the foot has slid forward in the shoe because the shoe is too wide, there will be more satin. If the above is popping up, the window is too small. Ensure that the joints of the big toe and the little Knuckle are supported by the wings. If they are too short at the top of the wings and cut and give the offensive line to the tip of the shoe.

G) Check the length of the shoe from the shoe satin peeling off the heel and bending back under the shoe. Place the back foot peak, and check if the shoe ends. The end of the Sun / leg should be just below the navel. If the shoe is too long (as in the image at right), there may be bagging shaved on the back of the shoe, such as satin is cut into the heel cup. If the stem is too short, however, the foot will tend to fluctuate more, and satin will bottom. This translates into the back of the shoe POPING often discouraged when they get up to the point of the half full can be very annoying.

H) If you want to see that the queue is in line with the foot when the foot is pointed. If the shank of the shoe is torsion, check the alignment of the foot first. Until the window is sitting square foot is in proper alignment, it should be ok. Twisting of the shoe is often due to the stem does not conform to the shape of the arc and can be repaired by the rupture of the heel of the shoe before wearing. However, the stem can pull your feet if the box is too narrow, so double-check this.

Once you have a good measure, you can groped weight-bearing with the launch of speed on his toes. Keep the back of a stable chair or bench and put a toe. Put a little 'weight of this shoe, and then bring the other foot to climb the peak. Make sure your toes are pointed in the shoe long and there are areas of high pressure on the fingers. The pressure can be solved remotely with the use of special padding in the shoe, but should be avoided with a good choice, if possible.
